I went to this colloquium:Recent Progress in Cryptographic Hashing John R. Black Department of Computer Science University of Colorado at Boulder Thursday, October 18, 2007 3:30-4:30 ECCR 265 This colloquium served as Dr. Black's tenure talk. He gave a high-level overview of his work over the last 7 to 10 years as well as a bit of explanatory background in the areas of crypotography, cryptanalysis, and computer security. The meat of the talk concerned cryptographic hash functions and the recent exploit of MD5. The colloquium concluded with questions. Overall the talk was very well done - just the right level of technical depth while being funny and entertaining. Last modified 18 October 2007 at 4:46 pm by caleb |
