Factor the costs of different forms of success

Success occurs along multiple granularities of time, personnel…

Success factors are influenced by cultural values

2) Studying it
People, organizations, communication technology: inter-relationships between them
Structure: funding + organizational

Define best successful practice through reflective and reflexive processes. In this way we can establish norms and principles for sharing across disciplines

Self-reflection, ethnography, cognitive studies, computational ethnography
From social creativity, to cases (finding multiple cases), to case studies to factors to comparative studies of factors to scalable, dynamic evolving definitions

3) Commonalities drawn from stories
Need for a baseline ethical standard
Diversity and respect
Creative leadership
Complex, personally meaningful problems
Success reaches out and draws in

4) Describing it – (on the WIKI?)
We should talk and share experiences about failures more – this can be successful in the longer term.

Create ways to share early research in a non-judgmental way
Describe within the context of real-world constraints: the role of insistent reality

5) Protect it
Protect from current success stories defining success factors for ever
Resulting factors should be starting point - Dynamic evolving
Be aware that factors are contextual – they will not apply to everything
Don’t connect tools to success – simplification
