Initial description of Design Group 2006

  • team:
    • Courtney, Mark, Matthew
  • anticipated emphasis of individual contributions:
    • We seperate out to interview the people who we think that might have pioir knowledge or insight about our project. We will divide up the work load when we go into the design process.
  • Think about what you want to do! Why is the problem interesting to YOU?
    • We would like to have some hands-on experience to apply what we learned about the End User Development in class. After we talked with Hal, it seems to design an interface for the End User for the EDC project can let us find out what's feasible for End Use Development in the real world.
  • Describe your project idea commenting on the following specific issues:
    • Goal: which problem do you want to address?
      • What kind of problems will the programmer face while doing End User development?
      • How the programmer/designer overcome these problems?
    • Objective: what do you want to achieve?
      • design an interface which is informative, motivate, and easy to use to the end users of EDC project
    • Means: which media/technologies do you expect to use?
      • photoshop
      • flash
      • java
      • dreamweaver
    • Specific challenges: what do you consider the most challenging aspect of your project?
      • To design a general interface can fit the requirements of different end usres.
    • Relationship to course: in which way is your course project related to the course
      • design:
        • This is definitely related to the design part of our course, especially in the area of End User Development
      • learning:
        • We believe we will learn different knowledge by doing
      • collaboration:
        • Our memeber has different backgrounds then others so we hope we can learn from each other through this project. We will also interview Professor/PHD students to learn their knowledge related to Design issues.
