1. what are aspects of the course so far that are positive and should be sustained?

We have quite a lot discussion in this course, which is good. This course covers a variety of topics. I like it very much.

2. what do you think about the following parts of the course?

2.1. Lectures

Discussion is good.

2.2. Guest Lectures

Ok.

2.3. "practical sessions" (EDC, PitaBoard, Role Playing)

Very interesting.

2.4. small assignments

It helps to understand the paper.

2.5. efforts of getting course participants involved in the course

Quite a lot. This is good.

2.6. use of the Swiki in the course

It is very useful, especially for homework and recent events. But the organization for Independent Research and Projects is kind of messy now.

2.7. peer-to-peer learning (e.g., to which extent did it happen in your case)

This happens in discussion before, during and after the class. It also happens in the independent research.

2.8. independent research activities

So far so good. But the group size is kind of big, which makes the meeting scheduling and communication difficult. We are trying to make things more organized and move forward.

2.9. course projects

3. which improvements would you like to see for the course?

More discussion about the independent research and project in the class will be good. Therefore, we can see how other people are doing and get feedback for our work. This kind-of creates a more social/active learning experience.

4. self-assessment – please let us know how well YOU think you have done in the course Think about this in terms of your performances in:
4.1. please give an honest answer about how much time and effort you have put into your work so far (work hard <--> last-minute effort <--> minimum effort to get by)

Work hard. It is an intensive class. Especially, for the independent research and projects, there is no up-limit on the efforts.

4.2. participation (including class participation; attendance, ...);

I attended all classes and did participate in class discussion.

4.3. small assignments

Did all assignments on time.

4.4. your effort thus far in the independent research activities

Working hard now and pushing it forward actually. Because there is a project as well, I really feel the urgency to move this one forward.

4.5. your effort thus far in your project

Just started.

5. What do you hope to learn from this course?
5.1. originally before the course started?

Get a comprehensive understanding about Design, Learning and Collaboration. What are they? What is the role of computer scientist for each of them?

5.2. now (close to the end of February?)

Same as 5.1

6. anything else you would like us to know?
