Personally, I am interested in learning more about distributed cognition and learning. Areas of interest would thus include collaboration and learning and distributed collaborative activities.

I have not as yet read the books but am interested in learning more about the following two titles listed under the learning and collaboration sections:

Learning: Bransford, J. D., Brown, A. L., & Cocking, R. R. (Eds.) (2001) How People Learn — Brain,
Mind, Experience, and School, National Academy Press, Washington, D.C.

Salomon, G. (Ed.) (1993) Distributed Cognitions: Psychological and Educational
Considerations, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, United Kingdom.

For one of my classes last semester, I read and researched distributed and computer mediated communication theories, tying them into a possible framework for the study of participation metrics in online forums. My personal interests include how learning takes place within different environments and how technology can help or mediate or even add a new dimension to learning.
