1. MOOs are text-based, virtual reality sites that allow people to connect to the same place at the same time. They are completely unlike conventional chat rooms you might be familiar with in that they allow the manipulation and interaction with cyber-objects in addition to live communication. 2. In a MOO one uses commands to do many things: create new virtual places describe one's character, the places one creates and the objects one owns mail electronic messages or conduct classes - all electronically via the Internet or a private intranet
