Nathan Balasubramanian's Role Play II for EDC Fasttracks Planning Activity

Scenario

RTD's US 36 Corridor/Longmont Extension FasTracks Project, if and when funded, can save significant amounts of transit time for commuters between Boulder/Longmont and Downtown Denver and simultaneously spur rapid economic development activities along the proposed 38 mile commuter rail line.

Responsibility

According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Outlook Handbook 2004-05, the role of a Transportation Manager includes planning, directing, or coordinating transportation activities in accordance with governmental policies and regulations. In my (MOCK) role as Transportation Manager for the City of Louisville, I am expected to address numerous issues, including:

. Who is responsible for what actions?

. What resources do you have available or direct?

. Who needs to be informed of your actions or information that you have?

. What information do you need and from whom?

by drawing on my education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
